Gouldson was founded in 2010 with one clear goal: to provide hassle-free accounting and tax support that Islanders could depend on. For us it’s always been about providing a reliable, quality service which prioritises transparency and convenience.
As our reputation and reliability grew, so did our services. In 2015, we expanded our expertise to include finance, launching personalised loan options and innovative financial products to comprehensively support our clients’ ambitions. This expansion was a natural progression of our commitment to making financial management accessible and stress-free for everyone.
In 2022, we developed our own Finance app, which provides our clients with instant access to all of their finance agreements held with us. The app showcases loan profiles, balances, early settlement quotations and an inbuilt notification / messaging system to keep our customers up to date with their agreements as they progress.
Our mission is to make finance work for you - Accountancy, lending and Taxation. We provide an all-round service which is unmatched in Jersey.

Carl Gouldson
I’m Carl – Founder of Gouldson. I started this journey over 15 years ago with a simple goal: to make accountancy and finance less intimidating and more accessible for everyone. From day one, I’ve been all about breaking down the financial jargon and complex processes into clear, straightforward solutions.
I pride myself on being approachable and genuinely interested in helping our clients succeed. Under my watch, Gouldson has grown from a basic accountancy and tax practice, to an all-round business and financial advisory services, sticking true to our core mission of keeping things simple and effective for our clients.
Craig Watts
I’m Craig, and I handle a bit of everything that keeps Gouldson running smoothly. From day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll to preparing accounts and handling legal administration, I’m the go-to person for keeping things organised behind the scenes.
With qualifications in bookkeeping and as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, I take pride in making sure the numbers always add up and the details never slip through the cracks. The team knows me as a good judge of character – and I like to think that helps me understand people just as well as I understand spreadsheets.
Lauren Gouldson
I’m Lauren, and I keep the wheels turning at Gouldson. My role covers everything from bookkeeping and payroll to general administration and secretarial support – basically, I’m here to make sure things get done efficiently and on time.
I’m known for my organisation skills and love bringing a bit of order to the everyday chaos that comes with running a busy practice. Qualified by experience, I’ve learned that attention to detail and good communication make all the difference when supporting our clients and the team.
Dr Graham Root
I’m Graham, a Director at Gouldson Finance, where I review and advise on all our financing proposals. My background spans consultancy, finance, and business development across several sectors – from public health and education to environment and fisheries – both in Jersey and internationally.
With a BA, MA, and PhD, I bring an analytical and structured approach to every project. I’m known for being direct, clear, and focused – qualities that help ensure our clients’ financial strategies are both sound and sustainable.
